Trying out drugstore products

I do tend to go for more high end makeup and beauty products but I thought I would give a few drugstore products a go to see if I could save a little money.

I tried the Maybelline Master Precise liquid eyeliner because it looked very similar to my Stila liquid eyeliner pen. I was not impressed with the Maybelline eyeliner it was very dry and hard to work with. The shape of the pen was prefect but the fact that I couldn't get the liner to make a wing without pressing really hard made the application process take forever and the wing did not look good. So for now I will be sticking with my Stila liquid eyeliner.

The next thing I tried was the Loreal Telescopic mascara because I love just about every Loreal mascara I have ever tried they have always worked great for me. This was no difference this mascara made my lashes look so much longer and because the brush is so small it was very easy to do my bottom lashes. I did go in with the Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara to make my lashes look a little fuller because even though the telescopic mascara made my lashes look long they did not look fuller. So if you are looking for more length in your lashes you should pick this one up.

The last thing I tried was the Wet N Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel nail polish in Stay Classy. This nail polish really surprised me the color is beautiful and it only took 2 coats to build up to the prefect color. I have been wearing it for about a week now and it has not chipped or peeled off. There are alot of colors to choose from and worth checking out.

All products came from Walmart and the prices were very good. The Maybelline eyeliner was $9 the Loreal Telescopic mascara was $12 and the Wet N Wild nail polish was $5.

Another Little Black Dress

Here is another little black dress idea and this one is a strapless or what some people call a tube dress. I don't wear this dress very often but it is beautiful and with the right necklace can look very dressy. I picked this dress up a few years ago just to have it as another black dress option in my closet.

The front of the dress has a little of a sweetheart neckline and wearing a big necklace with flowers or any kind of detail looks so pretty.

Todays Outfit Blue and Ruffles

So when I hear blue and ruffles the first place my mind goes is to the 80's. But when I saw this skirt at Forever 21 I fell in love with it and bought it right away. But you do need to pair it with just the right shirt to make it work and what I think works best is a plain white or black fitted t shirt.

Today's Outfit Skinny Jeans

Yes I do love my skirts and dress alot but there is nothing better than a good pair of dark denim skinny jeans. When I'm home and just around the house I'm usually in my skinny jeans and a t shirt. But there are lots of ways to dress up a pair of jeans and below I have put together a outfit that I have wore lots of times.

I can't get enough of these booties and I wear them alot with dress, skirts and jeans. I got them 2 years ago and they are still going strong.

This is one of my favorite black dress that I own because of the shape and the material is so soft. Prefect for a night out or with a cardigan for work.

My Go To Copper Eyeshadow Routine

I hope these steps are easy to follow because I want to show you how I get my copper eyeshadow look. I used the Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar palette and I got mine at Sephora the best place in the world or to me anyways 😊.  But as long as you got 3 to 4 different brown eyeshadows and some light eyeshadows that will work to. This palette is amazing the shadows have so much pigmentation and are very easy to blend and best of all they do smell like chocolate. I will show you all the brushes I use for each shadow and how I use them.

The first color I'm going to use is Butter Pecan and that will go all over my lid and in the inner corner of my eye.

The next shadow I will use is Peanut Butter and this will go in the crease of my eye lid and I will blend this back and forth. From the outer corner and almost to the inner corner. I'm also going to bring it down under my lower lash line and blend the shadow back to the outer corner of my eye.

Next color will be Rum Raisin and that will also go blended into my crease to the outer corner of my eye and blended into to lower lash line. Blending is key here so you may have to go back and forth blending 10 to 15 time to get this to look right and you don't want to go to high with your shadow because you will look like you have a black eye.

Then we will take Fosting and smudge it into the outer corner of your eye to darken up the outer corner and also bring this color down under your lower lash line and blend it in. Don't put more shadow on your brush when blending under your lower lash line just whatever is left on your brush will do.

I will use my finger to put Bon Bon all over my eye lid and then use a clean blending brush to blend everything in one last time.

This is what it will look like once all the shadows are blended in.

I will then take Coconut Creme and use my finger to put this on my brow bone.

Take a flat brush and take a little Frosting shadow and press it into your lower lash line.

Take a small smudging brush with Peanut Butter on it and blend this under your lower lash line and also blend the Frosting shadow to create a smoky look under the eye.

Now you are left with a smoky copper eye. It might look messy right now but once you get your liner on it will look prefect. My next step will be wing eyeliner and concealer on a angle brush to clean up the edges.

Then I will take a little more Peanut Butter on my smudging brush and just touch up under my eye and make sure my shadow meets my wing liner.

This is what it will look like when the liner is done and the smudging on the lower lash line.

Next is mascara and a little more Butter Pecan to brighten it up a little.

We are all done with out copper eyeshadow look!

It does take some practice to get confident with using darker shadows because when you first put it on your eye you will think this looks so bad. But don't give up just keep blending and blending and I promise it will look good.

The highlighter on my cheeks is Becca Champagne Pop one of my favorites.
